North Hanover is one of the leaders in the Burlington County Farmland Preservation program. Nearly $9.7 million of state and county funds, coupled with $1.3 million of local tax dollars have been utilized to date. So far we have:
  • Preserved 24 properties -- over 3,000 acres of farmland that will never be developed.
  • Received certification from the State Council on Affordable Housing that shields North Hanover from high density housing development.
  • Obtained a State Planning Incentive Grant that will set aside $3.3 million over five years which will be used to help preserve an additional 1,200 acres of farmland.
