NOVEMBER GENERAL ELECTION INFORMATION              Updated: August 28, 2020

Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders #177 and #179 direct the November General Election to be conducted primarily by mail. While some decisions are still being made by the Governor’s office and the legislature and the timelines are changing rapidly, election officials in the Board of Elections, County Clerk’s Office and Superintendent of Elections Office are working diligently to implement the provisions of the Governor’s Orders.

At the time of this posting, here is what to expect:

·         All active registered voters will be mailed a ballot for the November election.

·         Ballots will be mailed on, or before October 5th.

·         Voters do not need to apply to receive a ballot unless they need to provide a mailing address which is different than the residence where they are registered to vote. Contact the County Clerk’s office at 609-265-5229 for further information.

·         There are many options for returning the ballot to the Board of Elections-

o   The ballot may be mailed using the postage paid return envelope. It must be postmarked on, or before, November 3.

o   The ballot may be deposited in one of the ballot boxes that will be placed around the county.  Locations will be posted as soon as they are available.

o   A voter may deliver his or her own voted ballot, sealed in the provided return envelopes, to their polling place on Election Day where they will be checked in by poll workers.

o   Ballots may be returned to the County Board of Elections by personal delivery or authorized ballot bearer.  Identification must be provided when signing the bearer book.

·         Polling place and ballot box location information will be available by September 15.

·         There will be limited polling locations open on Election Day. In-person voting at the polling locations will be by paper Provisional Ballot.  Accommodations will also be available for voters with disabilities.

·         The Voter Registration Deadline for the November Election is October 13, 2020.  Contact the Superintendent of Elections/Commissioner of Registration office to register to vote or update your voter registration information.
