Fire Permit Requirement

Applicant,

Below you will find a list of requirements that must be met in order to have a contained fire permit considered for approval.

1. A permit application must be fully filled out and submitted to the Plumsted Township Fire Districts Fire Marshal’s Office along with the permit fee, and the signed copy of this letter at least seventy two (72) hours prior to the proposed fire.

2. You must contact the Ocean County Radio Room to advise them that you are having a contained fire and that you have a permit to do so. 732-349-9100

3. You must contact your Fire Department a half (1/2) hour prior to the ignition of the fire. 609-758-2350 or 848-992-2833 leave messages if required.

4. The size of the fire cannot be any larger than 5’X5’X5’. Unless approved by the Fire Marshal in advance.

5. Fires must be kept a minimum of fifty feet (50’) from any building or combustible/flammable materials.

6. The fuel for the fire shall be seasoned dry wood only, and shall be ignited with a small quantity of paper only. THE USE OF FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS IS STRICTLY

PROHIBITED.

7. A responsible adult must be present during ignition, and must remain at the site until the fire has been extinguished.

8. An approved means of controlling, and or extinguishing the fire must be in place prior to the ignition of the fire, ex. Garden hose with water supply, or an approved

fire extinguisher.
