TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE COMMENT

Committeeman Kocubinski noted the Committee is elected to represent all of the residents. He stated the

Reorganization meeting is not a ceremony of triumph for one person or political party but a promise to serve

impartially and justly for everyone. He stated those elected to office are required to live up to the highest

standards. He noted the financial integrity of North Hanover Township continues to be a struggle with

declining tax revenues and state aid. He noted touch choices are ahead and would like to see a treasury flush

with money to spend on good things or reduce the tax burden to residents. He noted the current Township Debt

and feels ratable need to be increased. He states an Economic Development Advisory Committee needs to be

created to explore and promote economic redevelopment. He stated life is like a turning wheel that never stops

and every individual needs three things to succeed. Passion, persistence and flexibility. He wished everyone

peace, harmony and a great year.

8

Committeeman O’Donnell noted this was the most partisan meeting he had ever attended. He does not like the

feeling. He hopes going forward the lines of communication are open in the future.

Committeeman Doyle thanked the residents for the honor to serve. He noted his time in the service and the

rules he lives by. He will perform his duties with justice, judgment, dependability, initiative, decisiveness, tact,

integrity, enthusiasm, caring, unselfishness, courage, knowledge, loyalty and endurance. He will serve the way

government is supposed to serve. He will communicate with everyone and noted work needs to be shared and

done. He looks forward to the year ahead. He thanked his family, wife, friends and members of the Township

Committee.

Deputy Mayor DeBaecke thanked everyone for attending. He thanked his family, children and his partner. He

thanked Assemblyman Dancer for his attendance. He thanked the residents of North Hanover for entrusting

him. He will work diligent to ensure North Hanover continues to be a safe, affordable, fiscally responsible and

a pleasant place to call home.

Mayor DeLorenzo noted he takes his position very serious and is honored to serve as Mayor for the third time.

He welcomed to new members to the Township Committee. He stated he will work hard to keep taxes low and

maintain the country life style. He will continue to try to address the abandoned shopping district. He noted

this has been hard in the past but believes we need to continue efforts. He believes with communication

anything is possible. He noted in 2016 North Hanover Township was designated the most desirable

communities in New Jersey. He believes the beautiful farms, park and road improvements have added to that.

He thanked the former Mayor James Durr for his service. He also thanked former Mayor Deborah Butler for her
