TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING

SPECIAL BUDGET WORKSHOP MINUTES

FEBRUARY 23, 2017, 6:00 P.M.

CALL TO ORDER Mayor DeLorenzo called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Also Present: Mary Picariello, Acting Township Clerk and Joseph Greene, Treasurer

SUNSHINE STATEMENT: “The provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act have been met. Notice of this meeting

has been transmitted by email to the Courier Post, Burlington County Times and The Trenton Times as well as given to

those having requested same and posted on the Township bulletin board located in the foyer of the municipal building”.

PUBLIC COMMENT (EXCLUDES ORDINANCES-they have their own public hearing): Members of the public

wishing to address the Township Committee must state their name and address for the record.

Mayor DeLorenzo opened the meeting to the public.

Mr. Ralph Ruocco – Chesterfield-Arneytown Road – Mr. Ruocco expressed concerns regarding budgeting monies for

opposition to the Pipeline. He noted Chesterfield and Bordentown Township’s had expended thousands versus North

Hanover Township spending only $7,500.00. He noted this battle is not over and suggests the Committee consider

budgeting monies for this purpose.

BUDGET WORKSHOP

Acting Township Clerk Picariello passed out budget worksheets for the Township Committee to follow and review each

line item in the potential 2017 Budget. Mayor DeLorenzo stated a line by line review would commence. The Township

Committee reviewed each line item. There were various questions directed to Joseph Green, Treasurer. There was a

general consensus to increase various line items by $25,332.00 and decrease others by $28,400.00. There will be an

additional meeting on March 7th and the presence of CFO Bruno was requested. There was a general consensus to discuss

Capital needs at that time.
