2017-144 Resolution Approval of Blue Light Permit Application

APPROVAL OF BLUE LIGHT PERMIT APPLICATION
WHEREAS
, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:24-5 ET Seq. an applicant for permit authorizingthe use of blue emergency warning lights may be considered eligible only if the applicant is an
active member in good standing of a volunteer fire company, first aid or rescue squad, or a
county or municipal Office of Emergency Management volunteer whose official duties include
responding to a fire or emergency call; and

WHEREAS
, Jeremiah Castro Simon has met the qualification for a Blue Light Permitand it is the recommendation of the Fire Chief to approve this applicant for a Blue Light Permit.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED
, by the Township Committee of theTownship of North Hanover, County of Burlington, that in accordance with N.J.A.C. 13:24 et.
seq. it hereby approve Jeremiah Castro Simon for a Blue Light Permit and hereby authorizes the
Mayor to execute the Blue Light Permit Application.

that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to theJacobstown Volunteer Fire Department Chief.

RESOLUTION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NORTH HANOVER, COUNTY OF
BURLINGTON, STATE OF NEW JERSEY SUPPORTING AWARENESS OF
FIBRODYSPLASIA OSSIFICANS PROGRESSIVA (F.O.P.)
WHEREAS
, Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progessiva is an illness characterized by normalbone forming in muscles and connective tissue, forming an extra skeleton that immobilizes the
body; and
WHEREAS
, Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva affects children, usually in the firstor second decade of life being diagnosed by the age of ten, depriving them of normal
development; and
WHEREAS,
It is estimated that 2,500 people worldwide are afflicted withFibrodysplasia Ossificans progressive, with 200 diagnosed cases in the United States and 12
cased in New Jersey; and
WHEREAS,
currently the University of Pennsylvania is the only medical researchfacility investigating a cure for Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva; and
WHEREAS,
numerous States, Countries and International Organizations have joinedtogether to increase public awareness of this devastating, rare genetic disorder to promote
research to find the cure; and
WHEREAS
, the Township Committee of the Township of North Hanover wishes to helpto increase awareness of Fibrodysplasia Ossificans progressive and to provide public support to
find a cause and a cure for this devastating disorder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the Township Committee of theTownship of North Hanover that it wishes to help raise awareness of this devastating disease and
support research to find a cause and cure for Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progessiva. We urge all
residents of North Hanover Township to learn about this devastating disorder with the hope of
developing a treatment and cure.
BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER,
that a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded toMr. Gary Whyte, of the F.O.P. awareness campaign.

Best Practice InventoryThe questions and results were reviewed. The outcome of the questions resulted in no State
Aid being withheld.

TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE “COMMENTS”
Committeeman Kocubinski reported that Movie night was a great success. He thanked the
sponsors of the event along with the Committee. He noted the Recreation Committee was
preparing for a “Trunk or Treat” night on October 28
th from 3:30-5 pm. He also noted hisattendance at the Burlington County Recycling Center Tour. He noted it was very interesting
and gave a summary regarding the exportation to China.
Committeeman O’Donnell reported that the amended Mobile Home Ordinance seems to be
adhered to. He stated Alexandra DeGood reported the park owners were being compliant.
Deputy Mayor DeBaecke reported the Trap Rock contract was in process of being completed.
He noted there would a color run in Green Acres Park on October 8
th.Mayor DeLorenzo reported on the Senior Citizen Club picnic. He stated the Clean-Up day
would be October 7
th.PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Mayor DeLorenzo opened the meeting to the public.
Ms. Maria Sessa – Representative JCPL – Ms. Sessa reported that the new LED street lights
were installed in New Hanover Township, on Bunting Bridge Road. She stated to take a look
and express if North Hanover has any interest. Deputy Mayor DeBaecke stated he would look
into this and still has the packet.

Negotiation Matters, and Litigation matters

AUTHORIZING A CLOSED SESSION MEETING
WHEREAS
, the Open Public Meetings Act, P.L. 1975, Chapter 231 and P.L. 2001, C.404, permits the exclusion of the public from a meeting in certain circumstances; and
WHEREAS
, the Township Committee of North Hanover Township wishes to go into aclosed Executive Session and is of the opinion that such circumstances presently exist which
should not be discussed in public, and
WHEREAS
. the Open Public Meetings Act pursuant to N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 and N.J.S.A.10:4-12 permits the Township Committee to discuss certain matter(s) in private, and in this case
for the purpose of the Township Committee to discuss contract negotiations, litigation and
personnel matters in this regard.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by Township Committee of North HanoverTownship that it will go into an Executive Session for the purpose of the Township Committee to
discuss Contract Matters, Litigation and Personnel matters.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED
that the results of such discussion may be revealed atsuch time as the matter(s) are resolved and/or a contract(s) is signed and/or the negotiations are
formally settled. Interested parties may contact the Township Clerk anytime during normal
business hours for periodic updates as to the availability in this regard.
