Membership Information

Jacobstown Volunteer Fire Company is constantly looking for new members to join our team.  Below are the criteria for the operational positions available in the Fire Company.

Junior Member
16 Years Old
Minimum of a B average (80%) grades in school
Parental Permission

Firefighter
18 Years Old
Pass the department background check
NJ Firefighter 1  

EMT
18 Years Old
Pass department background check
NJ EMT  

Recruit Firefighter/EMT
This position is for new members of the department that have yet to attend any training.  These members will undergo department level training and be assigned exterior firefighter duties, or ride as a student on the BLS unit.  When the member and the Training Officer deem the member ready they will be sent to Fire School or EMT training. 

In addition to these positions, the Jacobstown Volunteer Fire Company has Line officers that control and command operations of Firefighters and EMTs, and Executive officers that direct the company operations.  Line officers serve as firefighters or EMT’s for several years prior to rising to those positions.   

Non-operational positions are also available; Jacobstown Volunteer Fire Company understands the importance of support personnel.  Inquire for more information on these positions.
