Handicap Parking Permits

Disabled residents of New Jersey can apply for a disability license plate or a disabled parking placard. Permanent parking permits are only issued by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.  Temporary Disability Placards are issued by the local police department.

You may pick up a form to apply for a Temporary Handicap Parking Permit at the Police Department Office. You must fill out your part of the form and your doctor must fill out his/her information.   When complete, please bring the form and a check in the amount of $4.00 made out to N.J. Motor Vehicle Commission to the Police Department during normal business hours. A Temporary Handicap Placard will then be issued to you that is valid for 6 months. In order to renew after 6 months, you must complete the process again.

For more information on temporary placards, visit the NJ Motor Vehicle

If you have any questions, please contact the Police Department at (609) 758-2522 ext 216 during normal business hours.  (8:30 to 4:30)
