Summer Recreation
About Us...
North Hanover Summer Recreation was established in the 1980s
as a 3 week camp - only running 3 days a week from
8:30-12. After several successful years, the program
gradually extended to wha it is today: 6 full weeks, 5 days
a week from 8:30 to 3:30. Our program is offer to
children who reside in North Hanover Township that are
entering 2nd grade to 6 grade. Campers are grouped by
grade levels. Each morning campers sign in and out at
the Jeanette Bowers building.
What We Offer...
As a camp we offer many activitites and trips that kids can
participate in. Some of the trips we have planned are
Great Adventure, CoCo Keys Resort,
Fun Plex and many more. Our weekly trips include
Island Beach State Park, Roller Skating, Bowling and
Westwood Swim Club. Prices listed on the registration
packets include all trips. All campers are to bring a
bagged lunch daily, while lunch is included for some trips.
We also offer rotation times in which campers participate in
crafts, games and sports.
Mentoring Program...
When a camper is to old to attend, we have mentoring
programs that they can partake in. This program is
designed to train previous campers to become responsible
counselors and help supervise groups on field trips and
rotations. Mentors play a vital role in the success of
our program. Paid Junior Assistant positions are
available after this mentoring program.
Our Staff....
Our enthusiastic, dedicated staff includes three certified
teachers, two senior aides, a registered nurse, two
bus drivers and four junior assistants who have successfully
completed the mentoring program.
We look forward to another exciting, fun filled summer.
Summer Recreation forms can be picked up at the Municipal
Building.
